As philanthropy has become more important than ever and the profile of the philanthropist continues to evolve, the need for creativity and innovation in identifying a diversified prospect constituency, researching changing business sectors, and accelerating new methods of cultivation is essential.

Josh Birkholz, CEO of BWF, is a leader in big philanthropy and innovator for the business of fundraising. In his 17 years of consulting the leading nonprofits, universities, and healthcare centers around the globe, Josh has created innovative approaches to billion+ dollar campaigns, charted the integration of data science with relationship-based development, and developed proven strategies for high net-worth philanthropy. Josh has appeared in numerous publications including authoring the sought-after book, Fundraising Analytics: Using Data to Guide Strategy. He serves on boards and committees of the Giving USA Foundation, Giving Institute, Fundraising Effectiveness Project – Growth in Giving, and the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. He is an instructor at the Rice University Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership. He has the Crystal Apple Award for Teaching Excellence from CASE. And he is a recipient of the Apra Visionary award for his work to establish analytics in nonprofit fundraising.
